On the route from Thorshøj, you walk along the ridge towards Thorslev church, across the slightly flatter landscape with wider expanses towards Ormholt. You will pass by the many burial mounds on your way to the beautiful protected area around Nymølle Stream at the edge of the Jyske Ås, before the 27 kilometers come to an end in Klokkerholm.

Pajhede Forest
Pajhede Forest is a unique example of the charming landscape that characterizes the most beautiful areas of Vendsyssel. Located in the northern part of the Jyske Ås, just south of the Søheden Forest Complex, the forest is enveloped in an atmosphere of awe-inspiring nature and historical remnants.
During World War II, dramatic events took place in the forest when two German planes crashed. The planes burrowed so deep into the ground that one pilot was never found, while the other ejected and was found dead, hanging in a tree.
Pajhede Forest contains a varied nature with lakes, streams, and a rich biodiversity. Nymølle Stream, which originates in the forest, is a natural wonder with its unique composition of nature types, including alder carr, fresh meadows, beech forests, springs and seeps, heath and grasslands, streams, and small lakes.
The stream is part of the Voer River and is a great experience for both nature lovers and anglers. Walking along the stream, you might be lucky to see many small trout quickly darting from hiding place to hiding place. If you wish to fish, you can purchase a fishing license for the Voer River at places including Dybvad Kro. Please note that fishing in Nymølle Stream is not allowed.

Jyske Ås
Melting ice, stones, gravel, clay, and sand shaped what is today known as Jyske Ås 15,000 years ago, echoing ancient tales from the Ice Age. If you listen closely, you might sense the faint whisper of captivating stories in the fresh breeze.
Despite its name, Jyske Ås is not a ridge but a hilly moraine formed by glaciers, extending over 38 kilometers through Vendsyssel with a width of more than two kilometers. 39 of the hilltops on the ridge are higher than 100 meters above sea level, and Knøsen, a Bronze Age mound, is at 136 meters the highest point in all of North Jutland. The ridge stretches from Dronninglund in the south approximately 40 kilometers northwest to Østervrå. In the forests, some of the highest points in Vendsyssel can be found, and besides Knøsen, you can explore other high points such as Storstensbakken and Skelbakken. In Pajhede Forest, the 112-meter-high Søhedens Bakke is also located. Moreover, you can discover the three large rivers that originate in Jyske Ås: Voraa, Uggerby Å, and Ryå.
Jyske Ås has almost everything: A landscape characterized by lush fields, forested areas, bogs, and expansive heaths. You can embark on adventures along the various hiking trails and feel the Jyske Ås beneath your soles. In the unique and largely untouched nature, you'll find rare flowers and plants such as heart grass and wild orchids. There is also a rich wildlife, and it is possible to get up close to slow worms, Eurasian jays, and rare frogs.
